The UPSC Post List comprises 24 different services that are filled through the Civil Services Examination conducted annually by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). This highly competitive exam attracts lakhs of candidates, out of which only a select few are able to secure a position in the UPSC Posts. In fact, the success rate for this exam is an astonishingly low 0.1%.

The UPSC Post List includes a range of Civil Services, with the most popular being the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), the Indian Foreign Service (IFS), the Indian Police Service (IPS), and the Indian Revenue Service (IRS). These are highly esteemed positions and those who are fortunate enough to secure a spot in these services are among the most privileged individuals in the Indian bureaucracy.

It is worth noting that Civil Services play an integral role in the functioning of the Indian bureaucracy, serving as its backbone. The UPSC recruits individuals for three types of UPSC Posts - All Indian Civil Services, Group A Civil Services, and Group B Civil Services - based on the rank obtained in the UPSC CSE exam. The allocation of services is determined by the rank achieved in the exam, with the highest-ranking candidates receiving the most coveted services.

v  Indian Civil Accounts Service (ICAS) - Responsible for managing the financial resources of the government and maintaining accounts.

v  Indian Defence Accounts Service (IDAS) - Responsible for managing the financial resources of the defence forces and ensuring that funds are utilized effectively.

v  Indian Ordnance Factories Service (IOFS) - Responsible for managing the production and supply of artillery and weapons for the defence forces.

v  Indian Postal Service (IPoS) - Responsible for managing the postal system and providing postal services to the public.
